Disappointed.

I really want to like these shoes. They are comfortable, the design is modern with a cool colorway, and my feet have adjusted right away. However the insoles SQUEAK LIKE CRAZY. I can’t walk without the right shoe sounding like I’ve stepped into a puddle. I’ve tried many different sock materials, tying/strapping tighter or looser, to try and fix the problem but the squeaks don’t ever stop!!!

Furthermore, customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I reached out to the customer service team to try and get recommendations on how to fix this, but they never responded and it’s been many days now. You cannot speak to any by email or phone and you end up in an endless wait, for something as simple as a recommendation. This leaves me extremely concerned if I were to ever have a problem with the shoes that required a warranty review.

I want to love the shoes. I was so ready to purchase another pair in all black. But with this squeaking problem and Xero’s teams lack of response, I don’t think I will be purchasing or recommending Xero again.
Loving this shoe so far!

I needed a pair of shoes specifically for weight training. My Saucony trail-running shoes were just not right for the gym. Found these and decided to give them a try. So far so good! I love how they look, they're very comfortable, and I feel great wearing them for my back squats and dead lifts. I was concerned they wouldn't be as comfy for my post lift walks on the treadmill, but I was pleasantly surprised. I do not run in these--and don't run in general--so I can't comment on how they'd feel for that, but for everything else I do in the gym they've been perfect! I'm holding back 1 star only because these shoes are a bit pricey and I don't know how they'll hold up to my rigorous gym schedule. I will pretty much exclusively wear these indoors, so I'm hoping I'll get more than a year's worth of wear out of them. If they prove to be durable as well as comfy and stylish---they'll get 5 stars from me! I bought these in the same size I wear for other athletic shoes, which is a half size up compared to dress shoes (e.g. heels/sandals)
Good for training; bad for gym commute

I use these shoes for weightlifting and gym running. They are great for those two purposes and allow for excellent connection to the floor for squats and deadlifts. However, these shoes are really terrible if you are not a fair weather commuter or if you are forced to take a car to your gym. I take the bus, bike, or walk to the gym and these shoes have fallen short on rainy or misty days. The lack of grip had me sliding off of my usually grippy bike pedals and sliding on bus stairs. Additionally, they allow in water from even small puddles.

Would recommend if you are car dependent or change shoes at the gym. Would not recommend if you have an active commute.
Better than barefoot!

I have been working and training at a sports performance gym for a almost 2 years and was wearing an old pair of Adidas Stan Smith's. I often would go without shoes for the lower body compound lifts. When the Forza trainers went on sale, I knew it was time to upgrade to a lifting shoe that could go from plyometrics to compound/Olympic lifts to agility and conditioning. I have been training in them for 4 workouts per week for the last month and I love everything about the construction and wearability. I have done several half and full marathons in Altra's, so transitioning to a true minimalist shoe was no sweat. They fit true to size and I have no issue with sliding in the shoe during agility, change or direction, or plyometrics. Stop training in unstable running shoes and go for the Forza trainers!
